On April 8, 2026, millions wear pink to stand against bullying, discrimination, and hate. But this year, we’re not just standing—we’re listening.

Day of Pink 2026 invites you to explore ECHO—a theme that calls us to tune in to the voices of queer and trans communities, past and present. These are the voices that dared to speak up, to love out loud, to resist, and to reshape the law. Their courage continues to echo through every right we hold, every story we tell, and every change still to come.

✨ ECHO Honours Two Anniversaries:

📚 25 Years Since Little Sisters Bookstore v. Canada

After years of censorship by Canada Customs, Little Sisters Book & Art Emporium won a historic Supreme Court case in 2000. It transformed queer literature from "obscene" to essential, defending our right to access the stories that shape us.

⚖️ 25 Years Since the Modernization of Benefits and Obligations Act

In 2000, Canada transformed over 60 federal laws to finally recognize same-sex couples for pensions and taxes. It wasn’t yet marriage equality, but it was a massive leap toward dignity and legal protection for our community.

April 8, 2026

why this matters.

United we stand a chance. Discrimination based on race, age, ability, gender, or sexuality persists. On April 8, 2026, the International Day of Pink urges the world to wear pink and stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We wear the shirt to continue the fight for equality, acceptance, and a world without bullying.

Why Act Now?

Love over hate. Progress isn't permanent. To keep the clock from turning backward, we must act now. We educate the next generation to learn from history, demand accountability from policymakers, and turn allyship into real effort.

One purpose: A more inclusive world. The International Day of Pink empowers youth to challenge social norms and stand up for their 2SLGBTQIA+ peers. Through partnerships with educators and leaders, we are building a movement of young activists.
