INSPIRE Tour
Welcome, Educators and Community Partners!
The International Day of Pink is thrilled to launch the INSPIRE National Tour—not just as a campaign, but as a nationwide movement. This year, we are bringing over 70 free, day-long 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and community events directly into classrooms, schools, and local spaces across Canada.
Our tour spans from Vancouver to St. John’s, from Windsor to Summerside, and stretches from the northern beauty of Inuvik to the historic communities of Lac Seul and Fort Frances. We are grounding this massive educational initiative in two monumental milestones of Canadian 2SLGBTQIA+ history:
The 50th Anniversary of the Montreal Olympic Raids: We mark a pivotal turning point where men, women, gender-diverse individuals, Anglophones, Francophones, Labour Unions, and Corporations all stood together in fierce intersectional solidarity. That collective resistance laid the foundation for the very first official Gay Village in North and South America.
The 55th Anniversary of the 'We Demand' Protest: We celebrate Canada's very first national gay rights demonstration on Parliament Hill. In 1971, brave activists went beyond merely fighting against oppression—they dared to map out a clear blueprint for federal equality. They didn't just ask for permission to exist; they demanded the right to thrive.
The INSPIRE Campaign is an invitation for participants to see history not as a passive story from the past, but as an active tool to build a sustainable, respectful, and equitable tomorrow.
